Course Description
The course is designed to:
Provide a comprehensive introduction to the types of research, research process, research methodologies, and research theories. Students in the course learn about the cyclical nature of research .
teach students how to write a proposal,. The curriculum is sequential, helping students to identify a study topic, formulate inquiry questions, organize a literature review, and select appropriate research designs and methodologies.
By the end of the course, students will complete a research proposal that includes an introduction, problem statement (significance of study), literature review, methods section, references, and a project timeline.
By the end of S3, students will convert this proposal into a full research that will include the following sections: findings, discussion, conclusions, and references
Course objectives on which we will focus:
Develop a basic understanding of types of research designs
Describe the general steps and components of the research process
Describe process of identifying a research problem
Identifying a hypothesis and/or research problem, specifying a purpose, creating research questions
Read, analyze, and synthetize research articles
Organize and report the review of the literature
Prepare and write a project proposal
